about

This song was inspired by the friendship between Lucky Cantu and Miranda Koenig and their initiative: Through My Eyes.
Miranda has Cerebral Palsy, but that doesn't keep her from being like every other teenaged girl. And Lucky says "If you could see my best friend through my eyes, then you'd see how awesome she is and how she is just like every one else." This song not only features both Lucky and Miranda on the track, but it also features a verse and performance by Austin-based Hip-Hop artist and Ambassador of Change: SaulPaul. 15% of all song purchases support CPath Texas.

(3 TIMES)

Snap, Snap!
Clap, Clap

I knew from the minute that I saw you, that we’d be friends
Not much in common on the outside
but I jumped right in
We may have different backgrounds
And different skin
But where it really matters
Is found deep within

You communicate a little bit differently
You move your body a little bit differently
Your brain works just a little bit differently
But you laugh and dance just like me!

Snap
Clap
Snap, Snap!

Oh – if the world could see us Through My Eyes
Then the world would finally realize
Being different makes us Stronger
Gives us power, gives us armor
If the world could see us Through My Eyes
Then the world would finally realize
There is nothing I can’t do
Because I am friends with you

SP VERSE
Clap
Snap
Clap Clap
Snap
See I just Did that
Reversed in back
It’s still in tacked
And that’s a fact
See, differences don’t have to throw us off track.

Like – You and I, we been friends for a long time.
Been thru so much
You know it’s been a long climb
But we made it
Now we’re better together
No need to guess,
We are best friends forever

You communicate a little bit differently
You move your body a little bit differently
Your brain works just a little bit differently
But you laugh and dance just like me!
Oh!
Snap

Because I am friends with you

I am grateful that you are my best friend
You’re my ally, my shoulder to lean on
You shine brighter than anyone else can
I’m so lucky that you are my best friend

I am grateful that you are my best friend
You’re my ally, my shoulder to lean on

I’m so lucky that you are my best friend
